No i haven't seen Mister Lonely yet.

I think the "mumblecore" movies are pretty good, some better than others. I think a lot of the attention those guys got was just hype (i mean, in terms of presenting any real alternative to the usual American indie films), but Aaron Katz in particular i think is very talented. It would probably be best artistically for them to branch out and make films on their own i think, really personal individual films instead of just stuff they make with the same group of friends. Movies like Quiet City and Hannah Takes the Stairs showed a stagnation toward a certain generic "style" that i thought was too safe and starting to stagnate. Basically, they need to push themselves more artistically, aesthetically, and formally. I'd like to see a mumblecore film that moves toward a more poetic and expressive visual form, as opposed to just guys sitting around talking in a room with a shaky camera. Katz did that with Dance Party USA, which i think is the best film of the bunch by far (not including Michael Tully's Cocaine Angel, which is only vaguely associated with them). Overall though, i think what they've done is good but limited. Katz is probably the most talented, and Joe Swanberg takes risks and is probably the most realistic (he needs to stop doing the same thing over and over though). Andrew Bujalski is probably the best writer of the bunch, but i think he's the most traditional and not really doing anything knew. He's basically just doing updated Jarmusch/early-90s talky comedies. It at least seems like the Duplass brothers are trying to branch out from the group and do something slightly different with their new film Baghead, but on the other hand i don't think it looks very good either. On a whole i think it's good these guys are out there showing what can be done with no money, but at the same time it's kind of sad that it's a reflection of how low American filmmaking standards are. I mean, at first it seems really inspiring and motivating to see these films, but when you compare them to the average small film being made in Europe it's pretty of unambitious and trivial. Even in terms of an American filmmaker like David Gordon Green, i don't think any of the mumblecore films can really compare with All the Real Girls, which is pretty much the same kind of material just done better. Basically i think they are just lazy and don't care enough about aesthetics (except for maybe Katz). It's good for what it is but it can only go so far.

Malchik Gay (the fake one)/Mumia Schwartz/Renata Castrata /Lucifer Sam/Morbid Wolf/Morbid Wolf Jr/Jake B/Fake username/ and so on, and so on..

are but one individual by the name of Jake B (his primary name he uses.) He is a teenager from New England who is home schooled and doesn't have many friends (hence the vast amount of free time he has to spam people, the boards, and "talk" to himself to make it seem like he is different people.)

He does have one friend though, another teen by the name of Duke Harten (name on this site), who also has a vast amount of usernames, but his do not have as much flair or creativity as his friend (think crony or lackey.)

Sad and pathetic? Probably. Virgins for life? Most defiantly.

Thanks for the comment. You yourself have a good one too. Especially Gummo and Buffalo '66 are nice and original choices. Julie Donkey-Boy and Seul contre Tous are on top of my to see-list.

Hey, excellent list too. Good to see someone who apreciates Hellraiser as a work of genius. 10, 12, 14 all sit borderline on and off my top 20, just don't know what to swap them with. Haha WTF is Who Flung Poo? I shall check that out man, never heard of it.

Thanks for the kind words. Yours is a fantastic list as well. Special kudos for having Pink Flamingos in your top five. I could do without The Brown Bunny, but aside from that I love everything here.
