Hmmm, the YMDb lost my top 20 list! Restored it from a copy I'd saved, but then did some serious reordering (esp. to make room for a few by Kurosawa, whom I discovered after I joined here). Top 5 unchanged, but I'd love to be able to combine Florette/Manon and free up another spot!

Nice List. Mockingbird is a great read, just didn't get whale rider, love paradiso and de florette, they were at the top of mine for a long time.

Yeah, I have Whale Rider in the same place, just after Andrei Rublyov. I have to admit to disliking, rather intensely, Cinema Paradiso, but who cares.

Great list. Loved to see Shall We Dance on there -- have you had a chance to view Shower? A bit of a non sequiter there, but anyhow its a lovely little film, very endearing. Wish I could've fit Topsy-Turvy on my list but alas there's just not enough room with only 20 slots. I LOVED Persuasion --easily the best by far of all the Austen adaptations of the past decade.

So are you a Jane Austen fan, or is that just a happy accident? (Sense and Sensibility was a very near-miss on my list...and Northanger Abbey is my favorite book of all time.)

Cool list! I also love Cinema Paradiso! I'm happy to see Shall We Dance, Like Water For Chocolate, The Comitments, & Howard's End made the list.
