I think it's better than Scarface too. Best De Palma flick imo.

This in my opinion is better than scarface, while scarface is a classic movie, I personally found this more entertaining.

Pacino is absolutely Brilliant in this film, Extremely well directed and an excellent story line, but Pacino brings it to live.

Carlito's Way is a good movie. I like De Palma's direction, Pacino's performance, and Penn's performance. The movie had its moments that were memorable. But the love element was too cheesy, and the film just wasn't all that original. This seems to appear with Heat on many lists, and my feelings for both films are this: good, but not worthy of any kind of top 20 list.

Yes, it sucks, some people thought it would be a good idea to make a prequel for this movie. If thats not bad enough it will have a no name director, no name actors, and puff daddy on the set. What a way to tarnish a great movie.
By the way, I often wonder if this would be a better movie if Da palma didn't use the "Gandhi" style beginning to the movie. suivant >>
