Great list. Well, at least what I've seen of it. Loving the plethora of Tarkovsky at the top. Also good to see No Country for Old Men on a list.. I've seen it 3 times and finally had my conscious take over and bumped it up to a 10/10.

I thought Andrei Rublyov was really boring but really liked The Return. Also, I agree with your comment on Keira Knightley.

I'm surprised to see so many new movies here that I haven't even heard of... this always reminds me how many movies I still have to watch... I've only seen 1, 3, 5, 14, 16 and 19 and I love all of them... Fassbinder and Tarkovsky are always great.

Feel free to drop me a line for my new poll

I loved Keira as Elizabeth because I fell in love with the character just as I did with the novel character. It was the feeling of the movie, not the accuracy of it, that was compelling. I think Austen is often distroyed by certain tendancies anyway.

Oh, I'm so glad. Two things. You'll think I'm british. 1. Have you seen The Blue Planet: Seas of Life from the BBC? 2. Do you really think 2005's Pride and Prejudice is really better than the 1995 version (I think this was BBC as well)? Boring questions, I know...

An interesting composition overall.
The only films from this list I have seen except Yume are Tarkovski's. I will be looking forward for the second watching of Stalker. Didn't Zerkalo appeal to you?

Loved your comment on the Stroszek page. I regrettably have only seen two films here: Do the Right Thing and Ghost Dog, but both would make the short list of runner-up films to my list. I need to see some Tarkovsky films as soon as possible.

I can't say that I have seen a lot of these, but some might be great to watch.

yeah, I didn't mean to knock the inclusion of Whale Rider, it's just the one that I couldn't get into that much.
