My current job is Editor-in-Chief at Cinenikki.com. I've always hated making lists since the tendency is either to go elitist or stupid, but here it is.

I did arrange by what I love to watch. That's why although directors are pretty consistent to 'classic lists', I've chosen the works that I actually prefer over the usual critical darlings. Bob Le Flambeur for example, and Discreet Charm (which is probably not Bunuel's most respected piece). This is meant to be sort of a timeless list; I often go on long streaks where if I were to update the list extremely regularly, there would be sudden strings of numerous works of a certain director. I had to avoid loading this first list up with Hitchcock, one of my favorites, just to make sure all my other much-loved titles got a nod.

Nice to see Ran on there Dave, it's one of Kurosawa's greatest. All around a great list. No one can fault your taste.

Why not just go with the movies you love to sit and watch? If these are those, you have good taste. Welcome aboard.

Nice to see Citizen Kane and Casablanca in there, my two favorite oldies. Seven Samuria is great, too.

Would you think that I like any of your films?
