I'd like to pay you for your advice but I don't have any money. I spent it all on that stupid prom.

So I asked this girl I really like, spent around $200 on prom tickets, tux rental and other assorted preparations, spent a month getting really pumped up and excited, and then she spent prom night largely ignoring me in favor of her friends. On the one hand, I was understandably pissed, but I'm mostly just depressed that she really doesn't seem to like me that much. However, being a glutton for punishment, if I don't have to work (and if I can work up the nerve) I'm going to ask her to see a movie with me this weekend. She'll either find my persistence endearing or annoying, and although I suspect it will be the latter, I figure I might as well keep trying.

What Duke Harten said below is totally true. I really am sick and a shrink who worked 4 days a week for 2 years at a cost to me of tens of thousands of dollars couldn't figure out 1% of my issues.

I totally reject the bogus Freudian idea that my mother being a crack addict who forced me into prostitution in Cala de Mierda, Colombia, had anything to do with my psychological issues.

I think my problem stems from unrequited love for Jake B.
