Jeremy Conrad:

I grew up with the blockbusters, and I guess that reflects in my favorite movies.

I don't think this guy deserves to be a critic. All of his movies are main stream blockbuster hits. I like many of them too but this is just a list of the worlds most popular movies. Everyone likes good entertaining blockbusters but to say that they all contain excellent film elements is obsurd. Anyone who has ever seen a few movies can be a critic based on this list, there's no respect for those who can apppreciate classic cinema. Don't get me wrong though, I believe someone who only focuses on classic cinema is limiting him or herself too.

I also grew up with blockbusters, but later i discovered a lot of films that are equally wonderfull, Empire is the Best!

Lord of the Rings? Eh, besides that it seems cool. I'd put episode III over TPM, but maybe you haven't updated in a while.

If you're gonna make a list full of blockbusters then these are the blockbusters to pick.

...No Return of the King? I mean, what? You have the other two, but not RotK. Tell me how that makes sense.

Dig what you dig right? In all honesty, this isn't a bad list 18 of the 20 movies are actually pretty fair to good. I think most people just have a problem with overly popular films.

Honestly, that's a very disappointing list. I mean, I love blockbusters as much as the next guy, but all of those films lack a certain sense of...artistic quality that should be present in Top 20 Lists.

And that TPM and AOTC are on the list...that's just disturbing.

Yikes, a lot of jerks around here. The guy likes what he likes, and so do I. Though I think you left IGN a long time ago, haha...

Pretty much what I expected from an IGN stooge. Might as well have just listed "Steven Spielberg" 20 times.

Shit list.

I am not so sure you grew up at all. Well, even for a blockbuster list, some of your picks are very poor. However, what really bothers me is that as a movie critic you admit the biased nature of your judgment.

all i can say is that you've got one generic taste in movies

"Pretty generic "

Wouldn't a "generic" list include "Citizen Kane" and "The Rules of the Game" and "L'Avventura," etc.? No, for a movie critic I think it's a pretty non-generic list.

Anyways, nice list of some great "modern classics." There are a few I don't agree with, but hey, this would be a pretty boring place if everyone had the same opinion.
