Great list! Casablanca is just wonderful; that brilliant set design and that great black&white photography, along with some very good acting. Great stuff. So many other great films here as well...

I love Ray's Apu trilogy (wrote an article on that), much of Kiarostami's, and the two Zhang films I've seen. I listed House of Flying Daggers as the best film of last year. Just not enough room to put all favs here.

I must admit I'm one of your readers too. Lots of your reviews are comprehensive and multi-angled, that review for L' Âge d'or (1930) impressed me a lot. ;)

Lots of great movies on your list, I like most of them too. It seems your favourite asian films are limited to Japanese cinema. What do think about other asian cinema masters like Satyajit Ray (Apu trilogy), Abbas Kiarostami, Yimou Zhang...?

Many wonderful movies here, many are on my own list of favourites. Notorious is an absolutely brilliant movie, although Grant is great, I think it's Bergman and Rains who steal the show (and of course Hitchcock had a little to do with it's brilliance). Bonnie and Clyde is also very cool, very watchable. I also love Sunset Blvd, Amadeus, Monty Python, 8 1/2, Casablanca and the Treasure of the Sierra Madre.

Both Tarkovsky and Kieslowski are great.... these lists are not long enough to include everyone!
