Probably the greatest horror movie ever made! The black and white just makes it so eerie as does the music. The best of the "Dead" series by a mile.

Time for some ungainly sauntering!
To me, the most mesmerizing scene is the one with the trowel-wielding zombie kid! Johnny mentioned a colored version: thanks, but no thanks! I am interested in seeing Savini's remake, though. I do also want to see the 30th anniversary edition, just for the new scenes filmed with new actors! And regarding the forthcoming 3D remake...I don't know, we'll see! Did you notice that some scenes are cut strangely? Like they miss a couple of frames, I don't know if this was intented or if it's just because of the low-budget. Anyway, Jason is right, the ending is very dark and I have to add one of the best ever! next: the second part of the famous Romero trilogy, Dawn of the Dead

First true "horror" film in my opinion. Bleak and was everyones first look at zombie domination and apocalpse. The classic by which all others are judged.

A great pioneering zombie film thats aged a bit, but still remains haunting in parts and gripping to this day.

This is one of the best movies I have ever seen, and by far the best horror movie. From the groundbreaking gore to the heartbreaking ending, this is just plain amazing. Duane Jones opened doors for black leading men in horror, and this contained some of the first nudity in a horror movie. I cant imagine the world of horror movies today without this movie.
