Masterpiece. Wonderfully acted and so emotional.

This film is absolutely sublime... Words cannot express it's profoundess on every level of the human psyque.

"I'm really wondering if we saw the same movie. I think Ordet is anything BUT conventional and cliché."

Well, it appears to be easy to trick you then.

The big question: Is it a humanist or an ideological film?

This is, in fact, quite a dumb film. Not to call it inane, conventional, cliche and extremely predictable. It ends exactly how you expect it to end just less spectacular and more meaningless.

Well, so many bad words for this film. "Vredens dag" is worse, though.
"Gertrud" has its appeal, especially when it comes to the end.
"La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc" is, of course, his best. Not too great, though.

All in all a director I don't have much respect from.

An absolute masterpiece. Dreyer is one of the greatest, and i'm not even a religious person! "Along with Hitchock, the only filmmaker who could film miracles"-JL Godard.

"This movie was slow and Danish."

Yep. It was also great.
