Yes, not to mention that KIDS is one of my twenty favorite films...

I'm pretty sure it's just a set of guidelines to what he generally does like. It's been awhile since I've seen it but I don't think American Beauty really fits under the description of "sensualist cinema."

Classic Olof right there.

Jake you and your fucking principles. You remind me of some parent that gotta live by the old rules, the difference being that you've created some rules for your own that it's kind of illegal to break. If you do, you lose your soul or something. No offence man, but that's the way I see it. To each and his own I guess, I loved this movie

"Pseudo-art trash" that you haven't even seen because you're too busy watching rom-coms? What is embarrassing is the way you keep referring to "real cinema" as if you know what the fuck you are talking about.

Who are these "pseudo-art trash" filmmakers you are referring to, based on my taste? Wong Kar-wai? Hou Hsiao-hsien? Lynne Ramsay? Olivier Assayas? Claire fucking Denis? Sorry, these are not pseudo-anything directors, they are some of the most well-respected directors at the forefront of cinema today.

For the record, i love love love Walkabout, i just don't like the flowery, sentimental flashback at the end because it betrays the rest of the film.

I agree with Schmitt, the lead in BAD TIMING was obnoxious. I don't see what people see in THAT movie...

I'm constantly amazed at how badly Jake misses the point of certain films, hahaha. "the stupid little flashback"? It's painful to assume that he actually thinks he knows what he's talking about when it comes these films. Please stick to your post-90's pseudo-art trash and leave real cinema up to others. It's pretty embarrassing.

You know what this movie really reminds me of? The stupid little flashback at the end of Walkabout, expanded into feature-length...

The fat girl is very unlikable, though I'd have to say the most annoying character I've encountered is the lead bitch from Bad Timing. Jesus.

And yes, that fat girl was painful to watch, but sort of hilariously awful ("Miranda! Miiirrrraaaandaaa!!!!")
